SHDHS 10K Raffle

The Crusaders' Annual 10K Raffle begins in November and ends with the grand prize drawing at the Renaissance Auction in February each year. Tickets normally go on sale starting the week before Thanksgiving.

This has become one of SHDHS' largest annual fundraisers. Each ticket costs $100. Early Bird Drawings are held in December, usually on the last day of regular classes before Winter exams begin. Proceeds from the raffle benefit the SHDHS General Fund, the Athletic Department, and the Financial Aid Fund.

Each family is asked to try and sell at least two tickets.

    Details:
  1. Each family is being asked to sell at least ONE $100.00 ticket.
  2. The winning ticket will receive $10,000 in cash.
  3. We are starting by sending one ticket voucher to each family.Please turn in the voucher and payment to the front office. We will mail the ticket to the person who bought the ticket, as named on the voucher. Please do not forget to writhe the Student Seller's name on the back of the voucher!
  4. If you want to sell more tickets once you have turned in your first voucher, you must ask for additional ticket vouchers. Additional vouchers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Please contact Sue Kolkmeier at 859.525.0255 for additional vouchers.
  5. Individuals or groups may purchase a ticket. Groups need to identify one person as the contact on their voucher.
  6. The more parents help their students with sales, the better the raffle will be. Please find ways to help your kids sell tickets.
  7. You can start selling tickets now. Sales end Saturday, February 20, 2010, immediately before the 10pm drawing at our annual Renaissance Auction at Receptions Banquet Hall in Erlanger.
    Incentives:
  • Bonus Day Off - Once we sell 500 tickets the entire school will receive a bonus day off school.
  • "Grillin' with Gish" - The 5th period with the highest percentage of ticket sales will get to picnic with Mr. Gish for lunch one day this Spring when the weather is nice!
  • Early Bird Drawings - Extra winning tickets will be drawn each date listed below. For each of the five tickets drawn, $100 will go to the person who bought the ticket. These drawings are held the last Friday of regular classes before Christmas break. For 2009-2010 the Early Bird Drawings will be held December 10, 2009 at 3pm.
  • Deuce Drawing – Each family selling 2 or more tickets will receive one chance for every additional ticket sold (for example, a family selling two total tickets will get one chance; a family selling five total tickets will get four chances). 1st and 2nd place winners choose between free PROM tickets or Front Row Parking at SHDHS for the following school year.This drawing will be held at SHDHS the week following the Renaissance Auction on Saturday, February 20, 2010.
  • Any student / family that sells 2 or more tickets will be out of uniform for the entire month of May!
  • Other incentives may be added and will be announced at school.
Additional ticket vouchers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The raffle benefits the SHDHS Financial Aid Fund, the General Fund, and the Crusader Athletic Department. Thank you in advance for your effort and enthusiasm in this fundraiser on behalf of the Crusaders!

You need not be present to win. Winnings are considered taxable income and winners are responsible for all taxes due, either through withholding or 1099. Prizes must be accepted as offered, and are non-transferable. No substitutions will be made. This contest is void where prohibited. Tickets may be purchased by children under the age of 18 only with an adult trustee named on ticket. Raffle tickets are not tax-deductible items.
