Financial Aid, Scholarships and Tuition Assistance
For current and incoming SHDHS students
SHDHS is committed to serving our community by providing the opportunity to
earn a college-preparatory, Catholic secondary education at SHDHS to anyone who
wants to earn it. No student has been turned away for inability to meet the full
tuition obligation. Our financial aid funds are limited. However, many times we
are able to provide close to 50% of each applicant's need.
Financial Aid scholarships and grants are listed below. The list explains how to
apply for each one, and how they are awarded.
Students apply for financial aid much the same way they apply for college
financial aid. These applications will be available by request as soon as the
student is registered. All applications are reviewed and processed by Private
School Aid Service (PSAS), a third party financial aid firm. PSAS reviews the applications and
ranks them based on need. SHDHS then awards financial aid
according to available funds. Families are notified of their level of
financial assistance before the first payment is due in July. All
information in this process is completely confidential and all agreements must b
renewed annually.
Financial Aid Applications are normally due May 16th.
Once you have registered, if you would like a financial aid application, please contact us at
859.525.0255.
Every year SHDHS runs an annual District Tuition Raffle. The raffle is designed to provide every family
at SHDHS with the opportunity to raise money to pay for tuition.
Students and their parents sell raffle tickets beginning in
December. All proceeds generated from raffle ticket sales
are directed to our Financial Aid Fund. We also accept private donations to the fund, and all proceeds from our Crusader
Store are also deposited into the Financial Aid Fund. Most of our district grade
schools participate in the raffle, helping us raise money for SHDHS and their
individual schools at the same time. For questions about the raffle, please contact Maureen Donnellan, Development Director at
mdonnellan@shdhs.org or 859.525.0255.
